Salone del Mobile & Milan Design Week 2027
The fair runs at Fiera Milano Rho; Fuorisalone spreads installations across city districts. They are different trips inside one week — choose the goal, the brands and your admission days first, then split time between the fair and the city.

Salone at Rho or Fuorisalone in the city: what to choose
Under review · 2026-09-18EN from RU source
There is no single best option for everyone. The next Salone is announced for 13–18 April 2027 at Fiera Milano Rho; the general public is admitted 17–18 April, trade and student days differ. A visitor cannot plan to attend the fair on any day of its run. Give the fair and the city districts separate days, and save every Fuorisalone event with its access type: free / registration / ticket / invitation.
Quick answerBest first-time structure: one day at Salone, one district-led day at Fuorisalone, then a third day only if you have confirmed appointments.
🔥 High demand weekCentral hotels, late restaurant tables and the Rho route become much harder to book. Book the hotel, key timed entries and a late route home first.

Opening hours are 09:30–18:30 for visitors and 08:30–18:30 for press. General public access is 17–18 April; students may enter 16–18 April under the event’s stated rules.
City installations have separate addresses, hours, registration and capacity. A Salone ticket does not include a city event, and a listing is not guaranteed entry.
For every venue check the date, visitor category, registration, time slot or invitation. The 2026 Fuorisalone Passport worked only at participating venues and did not skip queues; 2027 conditions still need a recheck.
Registration ≠ ticket ≠ queue-free accessFor each place check the exact address, public hours, price, whether a slot is required and what confirms entry. Save the confirmation and QR code offline.

Access
Trade visitors 13–18 Apr; public 17–18 Apr; students 16–18 Apr; children under 10 are not admitted as ordinary visitors, with child-entry rules on public days.
Choose the official visitor category when registering. Published 2026 prices are not a reliable price for a 2027 trip — recheck the official ticket page.
Take the branch signed for Rho Fieramilano, not Bisceglie. Check the current ATM fare and whether your ticket or pass covers the full journey — the standard urban subscription does not cover Rho; ATM lists an extra integration for urban-pass holders.
Use it for luggage, rain or a late finish. It will not solve city-wide congestion at peak moments.
Return
By day to the fair, back in the evening
Under review · 2026-09-16EN from RU source
Separate the metro, surface transport and the night route. Reuse the airport and night-service answers from the Milan guide and check the route for your exact address and date.
Lifehack: start from your first hall, not the main entranceSave the hall number, appointment time and a screenshot of the route before going underground — it makes a large fairground manageable when signal is slow.
Plan & book
Rho or Milan: choose the hotel by your week
You do not need to stay at the fair. Choose by your first appointment and how often you go to Rho.
Base
Best for
Trade-off
Rho / Pero
Exhibitors and fair-first schedules
Close to pavilions; city evenings add a journey
Cadorna
Fair plus central city days
Direct M1 toward Rho, near Brera and Triennale; demand is high
Lotto / Pagano
Fast M1 access without leaving the city
Check the walk and any interchange for city plans
Garibaldi / Isola / Porta Nuova
Rail links and city evenings
Great for Isola; verify your Rho train or metro
Brera / 5VIE / Duomo
Fuorisalone and first-time Milan
Very walkable for city events; slower and pricier for daily Rho trips
Event stay
Choosing a hotel for the fair and the evening programme
Under review · 2026-09-16EN from RU source
Check the exact address, the useful station, the morning route, the late return and cancellation terms. Compare prices only for identical dates, guests and conditions; look at availability at the moment you choose.
Total cost
Compare the whole stay, not the room rate
Use flexible cancellation where it genuinely fits, then compare total cost, breakfast, city tax, cancellation deadline and the late return to the hotel.

On the day
Plan your days: the fair and the city districts
Build days around places and events
1 day
1 day: choose one format
Either Rho for meetings and key pavilions, or one city district plus a pre-booked venue. Do not attempt both fully.
2 days
2 days: one fair day + one city day
Keep Rho on one day and choose one Fuorisalone cluster — Brera, Tortona or Porta Venezia — for the second.
3 days
3 days: add a second city cluster
Use a third day for another district, a museum or confirmed appointments — with an unscheduled evening.
Pace
A realistic day: priorities and queues
Under review · 2026-09-16EN from RU source
Make a short list of priorities, group visits by area, build in breaks and nearby alternatives. Arriving early does not by itself guarantee no queue.
Practical
Do not plan one event per hour
Entry lines, venue changes and the final walk take time. Leave one flexible slot each afternoon and choose two or three impressions worth waiting for.
Fuorisalone: choose a district, then events

Compare content and your own interest, not only brand fame. Check the year, address and access. Keep recommendations from other visitors as candidates until they are verified.
Design in Milan continues after festival week: use regular museum and gallery calendars rather than assuming temporary installations are still open.
Keep the trip plan in one place and check what’s live
Save to My TripHotel & dates: address, cancellation and check-in time. Route & meetings: station → Fiera entrance → hall → meeting time; event address, registration, QR and a nearby backup. Before leaving: tickets, charger, hotel address, transit updates, the last useful service and a licensed taxi contact.
What still needs a live checkBefore booking: Salone category and access dates, hotel cancellation and total cost. After the city programme is published: each venue’s address, entry rule and hours. Before departure: transport status, return journey and current fares.
