Where to stay in Milan: Duomo, Brera, Navigli or Centrale?

Milan’s metro makes almost any area work — choose by your evenings, your trains and your event.

PROTOTYPE · SEO/GEO article v1 · facts from the EmweGo guides (checked 2026-09-24) · question source: Traveller-questions research A01–A10 (Reddit, forums), 23 Sep 2026 (A02)
Short answer

For a short first visit, stay around the Duomo or in Brera (art, polished evenings). Navigli is for canal-side nights (check the noise of your street), Porta Venezia and Isola for local evenings. Centrale and Porta Garibaldi suit trains and airport buses, Cadorna the Malpensa Express and the Last Supper. Travellers happily stay outside the centre if they’re near a metro stop. During Design Week, Fashion Week or fairs, prices jump — book early.
