FAQ
Is Verona worth two nights?
Yes — two nights cover the monuments, one museum, a church, good food and an evening walk without rushing.
How many days do I need in Verona?
Two nights for the city; three or more if you add Lake Garda, wine country or the opera.
Can I visit Verona as a day trip from Venice?
Yes, direct trains take about an hour, but an overnight is better for the opera, dinner and slower sightseeing.
How do I get from Verona Airport to the city?
Airlink bus 199 to Porta Nuova station: about 15 minutes, €6 one way.
Does the Verona Card include the airport bus?
No. It also doesn't cover the funicular, and the Lamberti Tower lift costs €1 extra.
Do I need to book Juliet's House?
Yes. An online time slot is mandatory and tickets aren't sold on site — even with a Verona Card.
Can I drive into Verona's historic centre?
Treat it as a ZTL: get written access instructions from your hotel first, or park outside it.
Where should I stay for the Arena opera?
Piazza Bra / Città Antica is simplest; Porta Nuova works for trains. Lake Garda only with a confirmed post-show connection.
What happens if it rains during the opera?
The organiser has delay, suspension and refund rules for each show — check the official terms; don't assume a cancellation.
Is Verona walkable?
The centre is very walkable; Castel San Pietro, Valdonega and some bridges add hills.
Which local foods should I try?
Risotto all'Amarone, bollito con pearà, pastissada de caval, bigoli or gnocchi, tortellini di Valeggio and pandoro.
Is Verona good for families?
Yes — treasure-hunt routes, Castelvecchio and the river, plus Gardaland or Parco Natura Viva for a full day.
Can I do Lake Garda from Verona without a car?
Yes — choose one town. Peschiera is a direct train; Sirmione, Bardolino and Malcesine need a bus or ferry.
Is Valpolicella a day trip?
Yes, with a booked tour or driver and a named winery.
What's the best viewpoint?
Castel San Pietro — by funicular or about 231 steps.
When is Vinitaly 2027? Can tourists go?
The trade fair is 11–14 April 2027 and trade-only; the public Vinitaly and the City runs 9–11 April 2027 in the centre.
